Before becoming an event planner, Tara got her start in the industry as a founding member of the Lenox Wedding Tour (later renamed the Berkshire Wedding Tour). She quickly saw the value of introducing the region’s top wedding venues and event spaces, local vendors and overall infrastructure to some of the leading event planners and bridal media partners across the country.
In the years that followed this annual FAM trip, the revenue generated by our non-profit venues more than quadrupled, as the committee and revolving attendees continued to create a buzz about weddings in the Berkshires.
Tara has continued to expand on this approach by offering regions creative, expert solutions to event tourism, focusing primarily on targeted field trips and FAM trips, partnering in the promotion of this niche, lucrative market, especially in emerging destination locations.

Tara has always had a natural curiosity (about most things!) and is a huge advocate for continued education. She believes that being stagnant/resting on your laurels is hugely detrimental to continued success.
Tara is an avid reader, regularly attends industry events and annual conferences and is always seeking to expand her network…which tremendously benefits her clients.
Believing that we are the sum of the five people we surround ourselves with the most, Tara counts herself lucky that her friends and colleagues also happen to be some of the best in the business!

For whatever reason, travel just wasn’t anything of particular interest until the last few years…and now Tara sees what she’s been missing out on! She has dubbed 2022 as the “year of YES” (thanks, Shonda) and has already been to Portugal and Mexico, with Switzerland, Costa Rica and Ireland slated for the coming months.
Tara has a knack for identifying “not-to-miss” venues and activities wherever she finds herself and has merged her new affinity for exploring and her love of writing to offer travel advice from an events perspective to various organizations and travel publications…yet another tie-in with Regional Event Tourism!
Tara is also a regular contributor to Berkshire Magazine as the region’s entertaining expert, offering tips and styling advice. Additionally, her work can be seen in The New York Times, Boston Globe, Style Me Pretty, Carats and Cake, Wedding Style Magazine, Virginia Bride Magazine and Well Wed Magazine, to name a few.

Tara Consolati is a natural connector and loves building relationships, which has led to her impressive international network within the luxury events industry. She co-founded the Event Chat Retreats in 2016 in an effort to unite wedding professionals by creating a safe atmosphere where they could share their challenges as business owners, discuss obstacles they may be facing, set goals they’d like to reach, and continually hold each other accountable throughout the year.
Tara also serves on the board of Wish Upon A Wedding (NYC Chapter), an organization that grants weddings and vow renewals to couples facing serious illness or life-altering health circumstances.

A natural “sister service” to Regional Event Tourism is the consulting work Tara has done with multiple venues and events-centric businesses. She has a propensity to see things from a different angle and finds that she often has the clarity to offer solutions when a client is simply too close to have that same targeted vision.
Luxury FAM trips are the more public way of consulting with a venue, as these are created to put into action the steps we’ve taken to improve certain aspects of the business. These trips are intended to create a buzz about the venue, allowing the attendees to experience the space at a high level and encouraging them to become a “satellite sales force” for the company.
